Recently, the world brand lab released the list of the world’s top 500 brands in 2020. Last year’s runner up, Amazon, beat Google to the top of the list; Google fell to second; and Microsoft, whose net profit soared in fiscal year 2020, came in third, according to the list.

The United States occupies 204 of the top 500, ranking first among the big brand countries. France, Japan, China and the United Kingdom have 45, 44, 43 and 40 brands selected respectively, which are the second camp of world brand powers.

In particular, for the first time this year, the number of Chinese brands has surpassed that of the UK, ranking fourth among all countries.

The average age of the world’s top 500 brands in 2020 is 96.76 years old, which is lower than 101.94 years old last year. Among them, there are 213 “century old brands” aged 100 or above, and 81 in the United States, accounting for nearly 40%. Saint Gobain (355 years old), an old French company, is the brand with the longest history in the business world. Aviva and Moutai rank second and third in the age of brands, both with a long history of more than 300 years.

Among the 43 brands selected in China, only Moutai, Tsingtao, Wuliangye and Bank of China surpassed bailing.

In terms of industry, food and beverage brands are the oldest, with 28 brands over 100 years old.

Among the 43 Chinese brands listed, Tencent ranked second, Huawei fifth, Alibaba seventh, China Mobile eighth and Lenovo ninth.
