The following is the 36 cities ranked top four in terms of residents’ savings in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing From National Bureau of Statistics recommended by recordtrend.com. And this article belongs to the classification: Chinese economy.

Many Chinese people have the habit of saving, and the latest survey shows that Beijing and Shanghai are the top two in terms of per capita saving, with a per capita saving of more than 30000 yuan. According to the annual data of major cities released by the National Bureau of statistics, among the 36 major cities, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Xi’an and Wuhan are the top ten cities with the balance of urban and rural residents’ savings by 2019; from 2010 to 2019, Hefei, Chongqing and Changsha are the three cities with the largest increase, and Guangzhou is the slowest.

The balance of savings deposits of urban and rural residents refers to the amount of savings deposited by urban and rural residents in banks and rural credit cooperatives at a certain time point, including urban residents’ savings deposits and farmers’ personal savings deposits.

According to the data, among the top ten cities in the above-mentioned household savings balance, Beijing and Shanghai, the two top tier cities, have exceeded 3 trillion yuan, which are 3.73 trillion yuan and 3.17 trillion yuan respectively. They are far ahead among the major cities. In recent years, the number of information service enterprises in Beijing has increased significantly. As for Shanghai, there are a large number of multinational enterprises, as well as financial institutions such as the Shanghai Stock Exchange Economy, R & D and innovation are very prominent, which has attracted a large number of talents.

In recent years, the three industries with the highest income in China are information transmission, software and information technology services, financial industry, scientific research and technology services. Beijing and Shanghai are the most concentrated areas of these high-income industries, so the average income of residents is high, and the balance of savings is relatively large.

From the changes of 35 cities (Lhasa’s data in some years have not been released, so they are not included in the statistics) since 2010, the fastest growing cities are mainly concentrated in the central and western regions, and the top 10 cities are Hefei, Chongqing, Changsha, Jinan, Yinchuan, Chengdu, Guiyang, Nanning, Changchun and Lanzhou, of which 8 cities are from the central and western regions and 1 city is from the northeast. Hefei, Chongqing and Changsha, the top three cities in the world, increased by more than 200% in the past decade.

In contrast, cities with slower growth in household savings mainly come from coastal areas. Guangzhou, the lowest, has only 93% growth rate of residents’ savings from 2010 to 2019, which is the only city of 35 cities with less than 100%.

In 2000, the savings balance of Guangzhou residents was 88.7% of that of Shanghai and 77.6% of that of Beijing, surpassing the sum of Chongqing and Shenzhen. But now, although Guangzhou residents’ savings balance is still in the third place, it is only 48% of Beijing’s and 56.7% of Shanghai’s, which will be overtaken by Chongqing and Shenzhen.
