Ipsos released its latest report, “the impact of cowid-19 on workers’ lives.”. About half of the working adults have increased anxiety about work safety (56%), stress due to changes in work style and organization (55%) or family pressure, such as parenting (45%), or difficulty in finding work life balance due to the epidemic of cowid-19 (50%).

A survey of nearly 13000 male and female employees in 28 countries from November 20 to December 4 showed that the lives of workers have been widely damaged. Since the outbreak of hubris, 52% of people have worked from home, 32% have worked longer, 32% have worked less, 30% have asked for leave, and 15% of workers have been dismissed.

Less than half of the world’s workers report productivity declines (46%) and work irregular hours (44%), such as early in the morning or late at night.

Nearly half of those who work from home feel lonely when they work from home (49%), or have difficulty completing their work due to insufficient home office equipment (46%).

People under the age of 35, business owners, decision makers, low-income workers, women and people with university education are particularly vulnerable to the negative impact of pandemic related job changes on their health.

Pandemic outbreak and changes in work

52% of working adults work from home – from 74% in Colombia to 26% in Japan;

32% of employees increased their working hours – from 59% in India to 12% in Japan;

32% of employees reduced their working hours – from 49% in India to 13% in the Netherlands;

30% of employees ask for leave – from 50% in South Korea to 9% in Spain;

Around the world, 15% of people leave – from 33% in India to 9% in Belgium, Japan and the Netherlands.

People who increase their working hours and ask for leave are more likely to do so out of choice than out of obligation or necessity.

Globally, about two-thirds of business owners, decision makers and people with college degrees work at home, while only one-third of people without college degrees work at home.
