The following is the Telecommuting survey From Kaspersky recommended by recordtrend.com. And this article belongs to the classification: Kaspersky, original, Consumer research, network security.
Coronavirus pandemic has caused sudden and extensive changes all over the world. The necessary social alienation measures are affecting everyone. Although direct customer-oriented businesses such as restaurants and retailers have to change business hours, adjust their business models or close down completely, there are still millions of jobs that can be done at home outside the normal office working environment.
At the same time, the large-scale migration to telework is not voluntary. Employees forced to work from home do not welcome this opportunity because they have to face new challenges. But they also found some substantial benefits:
Comfort: employees become comfortable and uncomfortable. Kaspersky’s study found that nearly a third of home workers (32%) felt back pain in April. However, by November, employees had begun to make up for this discomfort through some “guilty pleasure”, such as “wearing comfortable clothes all day” or even “not wearing clothes”.
Family problems: staying at home all day can have an impact on the relationship between people and their relatives. In the April study, 21% of respondents admitted that they had family problems due to telecommuting. Two drivers of the conflict were the lack of a separate room for each family member who needed to work from home (26%), and the debate about how long children spent surfing the Internet (33%). However, a recent study found that 47% of people can spend more time with their families, emphasizing that this is the main benefit of working from home.
Work life balance: staying at home can make it difficult to maintain a proper work life balance. In the April survey, nearly one-third of the respondents (31%) admitted that they are working more, and 46% of the respondents spend more time on personal activities. However, the November survey found that employees’ attitudes seem to have shifted to telecommuting, with nearly three-quarters (74%) happy to never return to at least some traditional workplaces.
Productivity: research shows that telecommuting can actually improve productivity. Kaspersky found that 40% of employees didn’t notice the change in their productivity level, and 29% of them admitted that they were more productive. Equally important, employees still lack some aspects of the traditional work environment, mainly face-to-face communication with colleagues (34%).
