The following is the It is estimated that the expenditure on data protection and compliance technology driven by privacy technology will exceed $15 billion in 2024 From Gartner recommended by recordtrend.com. And this article belongs to the classification: Gartner, network security.

According to the latest report released by Gartner, as people are increasingly aware of the value of their personal information and disappointed by the lack of transparency and continuous abuse, digital ethics has reached the top of Gartner’s privacy technology maturity curve in 2021. At the same time, there are also three innovative technologies newly added to Gartner’s privacy technology maturity curve this year, including influence engineering, federated machine learning and sovereign cloud.

Gartner defines digital ethics as a system of values and ethical principles followed by electronic interaction among people, enterprises, institutions and things. With the adoption of artificial intelligence, ethical discussions began for the first time before and in the process of widely deploying a technology.

Enterprises and institutions are taking actions to protect the security of personal data, and governments are implementing strict laws to enforce such measures. Gartner predicts that by the end of 2023, more than 80% of companies around the world will face at least one privacy focused data protection regulation.

In response to these changes in laws and customer needs, security and risk management leaders must carefully choose technologies that balance innovation and compliance. Gartner predicts that global spending on privacy driven data protection and compliance technologies will exceed $15 billion a year by 2024.

Gartner believes that proactive and mature organizations are moving from passive compliance to active privacy design. This allows them to start investing in innovations on the left side of the technology maturity curve, such as homomorphic encryption (a set of algorithms that can calculate on encrypted data) and differential privacy (a system that uses or shares a data set while concealing or distorting some of its personal information). Many technologies such as cloud access security proxy (CASB) and dynamic data shielding on the technology maturity curve are expected to be widely adopted in the next two years.

At the same time, Gartner further explained the three innovative technologies newly added to the privacy technology maturity curve this year:

·     Influence project   Engineering) through learning and applying behavioral science and technology, produce algorithms that can realize the automation of digital experience elements and guide users’ selection on a large scale. Although this technology is still only theoretically possible to a large extent, technological breakthroughs in the fields of emotion detection and language generation show significant potential in the automatic execution of influential communication.

·     Federated machine learning   Machine   Learning is an important innovation that trains machine learning algorithms (repeatedly) in a decentralized environment without disclosing sensitive information. Federated machine learning uses the knowledge of model coefficients contained in local nodes, such as mobile phone software robots, semi automated driving vehicles or Internet of things edge devices, but without exchanging data samples, it can achieve more personalized experience without compromising privacy.

·     Sovereign cloud   Cloud) provide cloud services that meet the data location and other legal requirements in a single region.
