From 2020 to 2025, China’s domestic mobile operators will invest nearly $210 billion to build networks, 90% of which will go to 5g. In Chinese mainland, operators are rapidly deploying 5G infrastructure. According to the data of the Ministry of industry and information technology, in the last quarter of 2020, the total construction volume of dual-mode 5g base stations increased by about 200000, with a total of more than 700000. The number of 5G infrastructure in Chinese mainland has jumped to the top of the world.

The report shows that 5g independent networking has set sail. As of January 2021, there are 144 5g commercial networks in 57 countries around the world, with about 235 million 5g connections. Among them, the rapid transition of 5g in China means that 4G applications have reached the peak. In 2020, China’s 4G penetration rate will decline for the first time. As more and more consumers turn to the increasingly popular 5g service, 4G will continue to decline in the next few years. By 2025, 4G will account for 53% of China’s total connections, while 5g will account for 47%.
