Fast moving consumer goods (products with fast consumption speed and low cost) are still the largest retail category, and its retail revenue accounts for 66.4% of the total revenue of the top 250. Followed by durable goods (such as household appliances) and leisure goods, its retail revenue accounted for 21.0% of the total revenue of the top 250, and achieved the highest year-on-year growth, with an increase of 14.5%.
Among the global retail top 250, Europe has the largest number of retailers, with a total of 90. North American retailers account for the highest proportion of revenue, accounting for 48.4% of the total revenue of the top 250.

According to the report, 55% of consumers said they had purchased sustainable products or services. Most of the global retail top 250 enterprises have made environmental, social and Governance (ESG) commitments and published their ESG related indicators. Retailers have taken the sustainable qualification certification and overall brand promotion of products as the core of their business strategy to eliminate the concerns of millennial and z-generation consumers.
Top 10 global retailers
The revenue of the top 10 global retailers accounted for 34.6% of the total revenue of the top 250, up from 32.7% last year. In fiscal year 2020, the revenue of the top 10 global retailers jumped by 8 percentage points to 12.4% compared with last year.
In the top ten list, American enterprises still dominate (seven of which are headquartered in the United States). In fiscal year 2020, Chinese retailers ranked among the top 10 global retailers for the first time.
