The following is the Global Forecast for 2021 From Ipsos recommended by recordtrend.com. And this article belongs to the classification: global economy , Ipsos, research report.
A global survey by Ipsos shows the world’s expectations for 2021.
More than three fifths of the respondents believed that most people still had to wear masks in public this year.
About half of the respondents believed that a new virus would trigger a new pandemic.
Although 2020 is a bad year for most respondents, more than two-thirds are optimistic about the coming year.
Looking back at this time last year, the virus named “cowid-19” began to appear in more and more headlines, but few of us could predict the full impact of the epidemic. So what do people think will happen next year?
A new survey shows people’s expectations for the coming year.
Ipsos MORI’s “Ipsos global advisor 2021 forecast” interviewed more than 23000 adults in 31 places (including Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North and South America) from October 2020 to November 2020.
Looking to the future
One of the predictions in the survey has been realized, that is, 68% of respondents believe that a new coronavirus vaccine will be successfully developed. Regulators in the United States, the European Union and other countries have approved several vaccines, including Pfizer biontech, Moderna and Oxford / AstraZeneca.
Most people are cautious about the continuing impact of the pandemic, as 61% of respondents believe that the majority of people in their country may continue to wear masks in public places in a year’s time.
More than half of people believe that life is unlikely to return to normal under the influence of the pandemic, while two fifths believe that their country’s economy is unlikely to fully recover.
Only 30% thought that novel coronavirus pneumonia would make the world better.

In Malaysia, 70% of respondents thought that a new virus might cause another pandemic. In South Korea, Russia and Turkey, more than 60% agreed, while in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, only about a third agreed.
A novel coronavirus pneumonia crisis may make the world better, less than 1/3 of respondents believe.
Beyond the pandemic
One of the changes brought about by the pandemic is the rapid growth of online shopping in many countries, which is due to the blockade and restriction of social distance.
57% of the respondents thought they would spend more money online than physical stores.
Nearly two-thirds believe that income inequality in their country will increase. At the same time, 40% of people believe that the world’s major stock markets may collapse – China has the highest confidence in the stock market, and only 22% of Chinese people predict this result.
About technology, 36% of the world’s people say that robots may look like humans next year, thinking and speaking like humans. However, more than half of the people do not agree with this view. One in five predicted that robots would not only replace humans, but human cloning would also be legalized in some countries.
Many people are worried about climate change, with 75% predicting that the global average temperature will rise in 2021. A few people worry about other threats, such as human extinction (16%), the arrival of aliens to earth (12%) and the discovery of ghosts (16%).
Despite these threats – real or perceived – Ipsos’ findings are generally optimistic.
Although seven out of every 10 respondents and their families are in financial trouble in 2020, 77% are optimistic that the next year will be better. More than half of the respondents predict that the global economy will be better than 2020 by 2021.
