One in two employees reported working in an office, with only 14% of respondents working entirely from home. However, for employees, working in the office may not be the first choice. People who go out to work or do not work in the office find that they are more inconsistent with their employers; more than a quarter of them give their employers very poor marks.

Three fifths of employees said that loss of income or employment was a very real threat (22%) or to some extent a real threat (38%) in the next 12 months. With the exception of China, Germany and the Netherlands, employees in most countries share this view.

And the threat may be real. According to a recent study conducted by the world economic forum and Arizona State University, the most common response to the epidemic is to cut personnel expenditure, including layoffs (permanent 35%, temporary 28%), freezing recruitment (permanent 28%, temporary 27%), and reducing the working hours of hourly workers (permanent 29%, temporary 25%).
