In May 2021, JAL, Hawaiian, red wing and Columbia ranked first among punctual arrivals in their respective regions. Meanwhile, Haneda Airport (HND), as the most punctual airport in the world, occupies the first place.

For more than a decade, cirium has been publishing the punctuality performance report, the oldest analysis report in the aviation industry, which aims to provide insights on punctuality of airlines and airports, and to recognize those airlines and airports that outperform their peers in global, regional and respective categories. The report was suspended in early 2020 due to COVID-19’s influence.

In May, the world’s top 20 airports handled more than 500000 passenger flights. It is only 4% lower than in February 2020. The punctuality rate of the airport has been improved by three points.

“As the number of flights recovers, it’s a fair arena to re analyze the punctuality performance of airlines and airports – a positive signal for the industry. While the causes of delays – airspace congestion, runways or connecting passengers – don’t exist at all in 2020, they are likely to slowly return in 2021 and 2022, “says Jeremy Bowen, chief executive of cirium.

“Cirium uses the most accurate data analysis to develop the punctuality performance report. We are pleased to announce that JAL, Hawaiian Airlines, Red Wing airlines and Columbia airlines are the most punctual airlines in their respective regions. At the same time, we congratulate Haneda airport on winning the top of the global airport category“
