Report on net zero emission of mobile industry in 2021 From GSMA

The following is the Report on net zero emission of mobile industry in 2021 From GSMA recommended by recordtrend.com. And this article belongs to the classification: 5g industry, GSMA, research report.

GSMA released the “2021 mobile industry net zero emission report”. According to the strict standards of the United Nations “zero emission competition”, more than a third of the mobile industry (in terms of revenue) has now committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050 or earlier. In January this year, the mobile industry took the lead in breaking through the critical point of 20%, which is necessary to accelerate the transformation of a zero carbon world.

Nearly two-thirds of the mobile industry has set scientific carbon emission reduction targets, which will be rapidly completed within ten years.

The goal of “race to zero”, a global movement supported by the United Nations, is to achieve the “breakthrough goals” of at least 10 industries before the 26th conference of the parties (cop26).

GSMA analyzes how the mobile industry will achieve zero emission in 2050

Mobile operators cover 50% of the world’s mobile connections and 65% of the industry’s revenue, and are committed to achieving science based goals.

36% of the mobile industry (by revenue) and 31% of mobile connections are committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050 or earlier through the United Nations “zero emission contest”.

Global mobile operators are stepping up and committed to taking the necessary actions to achieve the goal of a net zero world under the climate action.

By 2020, 60 mobile operators providing 69% of global mobile connectivity and 80% of global revenue will provide global carbon emission projects with their climate impacts, risks and opportunities.

The research conducted by GSMA and Carbon Trust found that although the mobile industry currently accounts for about 0.4% of global carbon emissions, it can help other industries reduce their carbon emissions by 10 times, equivalent to about 4% of global emissions

The construction of 5g network considers the network energy efficiency; The specification requires a 90% reduction in energy consumption per bit of data.
