A new survey shows that Europeans understand and appreciate the advertising supported Internet, and three-quarters of them will choose the current experience rather than the experience that requires paying to access most websites and applications.

On average, there are less than five websites that each European subscribes to and pays to visit; 51% of Europeans are willing to subscribe to three or fewer websites or apps.
Most Europeans want most of the web services they currently use to pay no more than four euros a month for subscriptions.
Music streaming (51%) and email (50%) are the only sites and services most Europeans subscribe to. Less than one to three Europeans are willing to pay for weather forecasts (32%), financial content (31%), news (28%) or sports (26%).
75% of the respondents said they benefited from relevant and targeted advertising; 32% of respondents said they found advertisements “always” or “often” useful.
