The following is the 30% thought it was normal to use tracking software to monitor their partner From Kaspersky recommended by recordtrend.com. And this article belongs to the classification: network security.
According to techspot, according to a Kaspersky survey, 30% of people think it is normal to use tracking software to monitor their partners. Tracking software is a kind of software that allows one person to monitor another person. It is usually installed on the target’s mobile device without their knowledge. Such applications are often disguised as parental control applications or anti-theft solutions, which can monitor Internet activity, track users’ whereabouts, record audio and video, and other functions.
Kaspersky recently commissioned a survey to measure public perceptions of privacy – especially digital tracking. Of the more than 21000 people in love relationships in 21 countries surveyed, 30% thought it was normal to monitor their partner’s digital activity, which was surprising. In this subset, more than half of the people said that this was appropriate only under certain circumstances.
What constitutes an acceptable situation? The results showed that among those who thought it was normal to monitor their partner, 64% said they would do so if they thought their partner was unfaithful, while 63% said they would do so if it was related to safety. In this group, if they think their partner is involved in criminal activities, half of them will also monitor their partner.
Nearly three quarters (74%) of respondents said they had never been followed by technical means.
If tracking software is found on the device, how will people react? Most respondents (83%) said that if they found that monitoring software was installed on their devices without their consent, they would confront their partner, but the report pointed out that standing up to confront their partner in this case may only escalate the risk faced by victims of tracking software.
