The following is the European e-commerce report 2021 From Amsterdam University of Applied Technology recommended by recordtrend.com. And this article belongs to the classification: Electronic Commerce, research report.
Amsterdam University of Applied Science and technology released the “European e-commerce report 2021”. The European continent has a diversified market, and the e-commerce market is also very different. Digital skills, including Internet use and purchasing power, affect the adoption and growth of e-commerce. During the new crown pandemic, Internet usage grew at a normal rate, ending the year with 89% of the population accessing the Internet (37 countries).
The European e-commerce report includes data from 37 countries on the European continent, demonstrating the importance of the 27 EU countries and 10 neighbouring digital economies. Throughout Europe, with the increasing number and share of online shopping consumers year by year, the popularity of e-commerce is rising. 2020 is the year with the largest increase in the number of online shopping consumers, in part because the new crown pandemic has pushed consumers online. B2C e-commerce turnover and e-gdp (e-commerce as a share of GDP) increased in all 37 countries. The turnover growth rate in Europe has remained in double digits and is expected to continue to show an upward trend in the foreseeable future.
As in previous years, Western Europe accounted for the highest share of total European e-commerce turnover in 2020, at 64%. Followed by southern Europe (16%). However, in terms of growth, Eastern Europe led with a growth rate of 36%, while Western Europe maintained a moderate growth rate of 4%. The growth rates in central and southern Europe are similar in 2020, with 28% and 24% respectively. The turnover of B2C e-commerce in Eastern Europe lags behind that in other European regions, which may be due to the low popularity of online shopping consumers (41%), less than half of the popularity of e-commerce in Western Europe (86%).
Although the UK has always been an economic power in the EU e-commerce industry, the growth and progress of the network market in other European countries have not stagnated. 89% of the population in the 27 EU countries have access to the Internet, and 73% of consumers shop online (up from 68% in 2019).
