Privacy technology refers to a series of technical solutions used to support the daily operation process of privacy protection and compliance and embedded in the IT architecture and business scenarios. On the basis of ensuring the enhanced protection of personal information throughout the life cycle and the standardization of personal information processing activities, it can protect the rights and interests of personal information, improve data circulation, sharing and openness The purpose of promoting the rational development and utilization of personal information.

89% of the surveyed enterprises already have the functions of data compliance and privacy protection, of which the information security department and legal department are the main responsible departments for data compliance and privacy protection.

The construction of data compliance and privacy protection system of most surveyed enterprises (87%) is in the “defined” stage, but its implementation effect still needs to be improved, and only 3% of enterprises believe that the implementation is effective.

Most of the surveyed enterprises have started privacy technology work, 57% of the surveyed enterprises are implementing some privacy technology solutions, and 35% of the surveyed enterprises say they are planning to implement plans.

Driven by laws and regulations, data compliance and privacy protection have become an important task for most enterprises. A comprehensive and perfect privacy compliance system should start from the top-level design, define the strategy and senior management responsibility system from top to bottom, and implement it from the aspects of personnel, organization, process and technology.

Highlight 3: analyze the demands, progress and challenges of technology enabled privacy protection from the perspective of enterprises

At present, there is still a big gap between the needs of enterprises and the implementation status, and the implementation degree of some solutions with high needs still needs to be improved.

The top three solutions with the highest degree of implementation of privacy technology are fine-grained access control, data De identification and anonymization tools and personal information subject consent authorization management. However, the first three most urgent needs are data automatic discovery, hierarchical classification and identification, data flow monitoring, data De identification and anonymization.

61% of enterprises will increase their investment in privacy technology in the next 12 months, with a growth rate of more than 5%. Nevertheless, more than a quarter (29%) of the respondents believe that the investment in privacy technology will still not meet the demand in the next 12 months.

For enterprises that have implemented privacy technology solutions, nearly 70% of enterprises said they could not meet or partially meet the needs of privacy protection. The main reasons are as follows:

Poor user experience leads to business departments’ resistance to the use of products

Personnel lacking corresponding qualifications or skills can effectively support the operation
