The following is the In the third quarter of 2020, the expenditure on cloud infrastructure services is close to US $33 billion, with a year-on-year increase of 33% From SRG recommended by recordtrend.com. And this article belongs to the classification: cloud computing, original.
According to new data from synergy research group, in the third quarter, enterprises spent nearly $33 billion on cloud infrastructure services, up 33% from the third quarter of 2019. Notably, the year-on-year growth rate in the third quarter was higher than in the previous quarter (32%), indicating the health of the market.
Amazon and Microsoft continue to occupy more than half of the global market. Amazon’s market share has been around 33%, while Microsoft’s share is more than 18%. Google, Alibaba and Tencent are all growing faster than the entire market and are gaining market share. Together, they account for 17%. The top 10 other cloud providers are IBM, salesforce, Oracle, NTT, and SAP. Overall, the top 10 providers account for 80% of the global market, with the remaining 20% coming from the long tail of small cloud providers or large companies with only a small presence in the market.
Since most of the major cloud providers have now released revenue data for the third quarter, synergy estimates that quarterly revenue from cloud infrastructure services (including IAAs, PAAS, and hosted private cloud services) is $32.8 billion, compared with $119 billion in the past 12 months. Public IAAs and PAAS services account for the majority of the market, up 35% in the third quarter. The dominant position of major cloud providers is more obvious in the public cloud market, with the top five controlling nearly 80% of the market share. Geographically, the cloud computing market continues to grow strongly in all regions of the world.
“While we expect the market to continue to grow strongly, the scale of growth in the third quarter is somewhat surprising,” said John dinsdale, chief analyst at synergy research group. Total revenue increased by $2.5 billion over the previous quarter, leading to a slight increase in year-on-year growth, which is unusual for such a large market. Obviously, covid-19 provides an additional impetus to the fast-growing market. Meanwhile, companies competing for market share have entered three camps. Amazon and Microsoft are in an alliance of their own, while others are either actively seeking to expand their position in the market or focus more on specific services, regions or customer groups. “
