Compared with the previous year, the social responsibility of the Internet industry this year has the following outstanding performance: first, Internet enterprises resist the impact of the epidemic and the market scale continues to grow. 64% of enterprises achieved profit growth, and 42% of enterprises with a revenue of more than 10 billion yuan. The report suggests that in the face of changes in the policy environment and the inevitable trend of standardized development of the industry, Internet enterprises should strengthen the research on the social responsibility of the industry and improve their understanding of the social impact of the platform; We should integrate our own development into the overall situation of economic and social development and pay more attention to major social issues; We should continue to carry out social responsibility communication practice and improve the quality of social responsibility information disclosure.

In the investigation and evaluation, Tencent, Baidu, JD, vipshop, ant group, Panax notoginseng mutual entertainment, meituan, Xiaomi, perfect world and other enterprises scored high in this year’s evaluation, and were selected as the annual outstanding responsible enterprise in the Internet industry.

Case analysis into the front line of enterprise responsibility performance

In the process of development, more and more enterprises also actively practice social responsibility in combination with their own industry or technical advantages. Representatives of meituan, Bixin and other enterprises shared responsibility performance cases on the spot.

Gan Xiaochen, director of meituan CSR office, described how meituan cut in from the supply side to drive businesses in the life service industry to build a responsible ecology in terms of participating in public welfare charity, food safety management and low-carbon co construction. In particular, in recent years, the importance of the dual carbon issue has continued to increase. Wu Di, vice president of bixin, combined with the characteristics of the platform, shared Bixin’s social responsibility practice in helping social employment, improving industry ecology and protecting user safety. She said that Bixin will give full play to the characteristics of enterprise online new economy and plans to create more than 10 million online flexible jobs by the end of 2022. As a digital entertainment community for generation Z, Bixin participated in the drafting of the standard for E-sports trainers and launched the skill recognition platform to build an E-sports talent training system through standardization, professionalization and other ways, so as to help more people play their dreams, value, productivity and future.

Ideological collision reshapes platform value with responsibility

At the end of the forum, song maoen and Guo Yi, together with Ren Shaofeng, vice president and editor in chief of TT voice and liming, senior researcher of Tencent Group Development Research Center, held a round table dialogue on the theme of “reshaping platform value with responsibility”. This paper discusses the role of the Internet industry in social and economic development from their respective perspectives, and how Internet enterprises should give full play to their own advantages to participate in social governance.
