According to the new data released by the association of automobile manufacturers and traders (SMMT), after 1.65 million new cars entered the UK market, the number of new car registrations in 2021 increased by only 1.0% year-on-year, down 28.7% from before the 2019 pandemic.

Subminiature remains the most popular car in the UK, with a registered number of 514024, followed by medium and low-grade (449631) and dual-purpose vehicles (443632).
Looking ahead, it is estimated that the number of new car registrations in the UK will reach 1.96 million in 2022.
