The World Wide Fund for nature (WWF) recently released the special research report on the improvement of China’s green power consumption capacity (hereinafter referred to as the “report”) shows that by the end of 2019, China’s new energy mainly based on “scenery” has a total installed capacity of more than 400 million KW, contributing 630 billion kwh of green power. However, new energy also faces problems such as insufficient capacity of grid connection and consumption, lack of market trading mechanism, and difficulty in the implementation of green certificate transaction. The improvement of green power consumption level is restricted by many factors.
Green power refers to the power produced by renewable energy such as wind power, solar power and biomass power generation. Compared with fossil energy, using 1 MW green power can reduce carbon dioxide 822 kg, sulfur dioxide 0.39 kg, nitrogen dioxide 0.36 kg.
According to the report, from the perspective of participation mode, it is mainly used for winter clean heating in northern China; in terms of trading, according to the data of China power grid, the total market trading power of large power generation groups in 2018 was 1.37 trillion kwh, an increase of 26.4% over the same period of last year, accounting for 37.5% of the total on grid electricity of large power generation groups. Among them, the trans regional and trans provincial trading power of wind turbines of large power generation groups reached 16.4 billion kwh, accounting for 41.5% of the total trading power in the wind power market.
According to the data, up to now, China’s green card trading volume is far less than the issuance volume. The total transaction volume of wind power and photovoltaic green certificate is 26.7837 million, accounting for only 3.74% of the huge number of green certificates issued in China. Among them, the photovoltaic green card trade is cold, the cumulative trading volume is only 160, and only Shandong, Qinghai and Jiangxi provinces have more than 30 transactions.
