The following is the 5g terminal white paper From China Unicomrecommended by recordtrend.com. And this article belongs to the classification: 5g industry, research report.
Recently, China Unicom released the “5g terminal white paper phase III” (hereinafter referred to as the “white paper”). China Unicom is looking forward to the release of the loan book, giving the demand and key technical indicators of 5g terminal products in 2020 and beyond.
It is reported that the “white paper” mainly specifies the requirements of China Unicom 5g terminal in terms of multi-mode and multi frequency, function, service, radio frequency and protocol consistency, performance, machine card compatibility and equipment management. In particular, China Unicom does not include the N79 frequency band in the NR frequency band requirements of 5g terminals. According to the table given by China Unicom, there are mainly seven frequency bands: N78, N1, n41, n258, N3, N8 and N5, of which N78 and n41 are required bands.
The “N79” band caused some controversy some time ago. The main problem lies in 5g application and 5g terminal’s support for the band resources. At present, only some terminals support the most 5g band, and most 5g terminals do not support the N79 band completely, which leads to the discussion of “true 5g” and “false 5g”.
It is reported that the N79 band belongs to the core high-frequency band, which is the highest frequency among 5g frequency bands available to operators. It has the advantages of large capacity and high-speed, but its penetration is poor. The N79 band can be used in shopping malls, subways, large gatherings and other limited space dense communication scenarios, and also suitable for the application of private networks in power, transportation and other industries.
At present, the 5g frequency band used by major domestic operators to build 5g network is different. China Mobile has n41 and N79 frequency bands, while China Unicom and China Telecom share the N78 frequency band. China Radio and television has exclusive low-frequency band and N79 band.
China Mobile said that the 5g base station supporting the N79 band is still in the experimental stage, and there is no plan to carry out 5g commercial use in this frequency band in the near future. For a long time in the future, the core of its 5g band development will be the n41 band. China Radio and television, which also holds the N79 band, said it would cooperate with the power system to apply the N79 band to the industrial market and would not open it to the general public market. Therefore, the use of 5g terminals that do not support the N79 band will not affect the user’s 5g experience.
