Brandfolder released the digital asset management report 2020. About six out of 10 marketers and creative people (61%) store their digital assets in cloud storage systems such as Google drive, Dropbox and SharePoint.
The survey found that people are using a range of storage methods to save digital assets, the most common choice is to use cloud storage platform; half of the respondents (51%) keep their digital assets on the server managed by the company. In fact, many respondents agree (30%) or strongly (10%) that their companies do not have a single digital asset storage center.
Given that creative people also report pressure and morale issues when working with marketers, it’s wise for companies to address these issues. The good news is that companies are making some efforts to bring assets together, as one-third of respondents (34%) use digital asset management platforms; about one-fifth (21%) use solution suite tools with asset storage components.
It’s worth noting that marketers and creative people are not the only team members who need access to digital assets. Although these groups were visited most frequently, more than half of the respondents (52%) said that their sales teams also needed access to digital assets. In addition, it teams (41%), freelancers or contractors (28%), institutions (25%), business partners (24%) and even customers (17%) needed access to enterprise digital assets.
The survey also provides insight into creative tools used by marketing teams. Two thirds (67 percent) of respondents used Adobe Creative Suite, followed by Microsoft Office Suite (63 percent). G-suite is welcomed by more than 4/10 Marketers (43%), and other tools in use include salesforce (41%), hubspot (27%), slow (24%), WordPress (24%) and shopif (23%).
