The year of 2019 is the 70th anniversary of the founding of new China and the key year for building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way. Guided by the new development concept, China’s aviation industry will fully implement the “one two three three four [2]” overall work idea of civil aviation in the new era, and promote the healthy development of the aviation industry. Looking back on China’s aviation industry in 2019 and looking forward to the future, it shows three major characteristics.

According to the statistical bulletin of civil aviation industry development in 2019 issued by Civil Aviation Administration of China in June 2020, the total transportation turnover of the whole industry in 2019 was 129.325 billion ton kilometers, an increase of 7.2% over the previous year. The total transportation turnover of domestic routes was 82.951 billion ton kilometers, an increase of 7.5% over the previous year, of which the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan routes completed 1.690 billion ton kilometers, a decrease of 3.5% over the previous year; and the total turnover of international routes was 46.374 billion ton kilometers, an increase of 6.6% over the previous year. In 2019, the total passenger traffic volume of the whole industry is 659.9342 million, an increase of 7.9% over the previous year.

Domestic routes completed 585.6799 million passenger traffic, an increase of 6.9% over the previous year, including 11.0756 million passenger trips from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, a decrease of 1.7% over the previous year, and 74.2543 million passenger trips by international routes, an increase of 16.6% over the previous year. In 2019, the whole industry’s airlines realized operating revenue of 648.72 billion yuan, an increase of 6.5% over the previous year, and total profits of 26.11 billion yuan, an increase of 5.73 billion yuan over the previous year.
