According to a new report from pubmatic, global mobile advertising spending grew 8% month on month in the second quarter, with high demand for mobile video.
Global mobile advertising spending increased, 71% from the second quarter of 2019 and 8% higher than the first quarter of 2020. Mobile bidding rose 20 per cent from last year, pushing Mobile’s share of the bidding to 59 per cent in the second quarter. In app advertising has driven the biggest growth, up 26 percent from last year, surpassing the growth rate of mobile networks (18 percent)
Private market (PMP) advertising spending has grown on all platforms, with in app advertising spending almost five times the pre pandemic level. During the pandemic, PMPs have been popular with advertisers because they provide the flexibility and value of procedural buying for media advertising, and combine more control.
Mobile video advertising spending rose in all regions last year and last quarter. Mobile accounts for 60% of all digital video spending in the Americas.
